Chuck Scothon is senior vice president of marketing
and brand development for the Fisher-Price Brands business unit,
where he oversees all marketing activities for the Infant and Preschool
brand, including Babygear, Learning, Little People®, Power
Wheels®, Rescue Heroes® and Pixter® categories. Scothon
was named to his current position in July 2003. In addition, he
oversees all aspects of licensing, market research and marketing
communications, including packaging and advertising.
Scothon began his career at Fisher-Price in 1994 as director of
marketing for the Power Wheels line and in 1998 was promoted to
vice president of marketing, before assuming his current role as
senior vice resident, Marketing and Brand Development. Prior to
working at Fisher-Price, Scothon worked for Prince Sports Group
as a marketing manager on various categories including tennis rackets
and at Kenner Products, where he worked in marketing on both boys
and girls toys.
Under Scothon’s leadership, Fisher-Price has made a successful
venture into the electronic learning category with the launch of
Kasey the Kinderbot™ and the PowerTouch™ Learning System.
Scothon is also credited with building Little People into a worldwide
brand and re-launching Fisher-Price’s Baby Gear category
in 2002.
Scothon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from
Miami University.
Scothon serves on the Boards of Directors for Playing for Keeps
and EPIC (Every Parent Influences Children).
