We believe that the development of our Global Manufacturing Principles (GMP) is essential to our success, and enforcement is equally important to sustaining it.
In 1997, Mattel created an extensive independent monitoring program, which provides objective checks and balances to evaluate compliance to our GMP standards. The system is overseen by an independent monitoring organization that proactively and thoroughly inspects the company's owned-and-operated facilities around the world, as well as those of our suppliers, on aspects of day-to-day operations. Independent and internal auditors are continuously assessing our performance with GMP.
The International Center for Corporate Accountability (ICCA) performs the independent monitoring. ICCA is a not-for-profit, independently incorporated organization.
We publicly disclose these independent monitoring reports for the world to see - both our successes and challenges. We are the only toy company, and one of the few in the consumer products industry, to do this. See the archive of our reports below. |
