2005 Annual Report

Mattel Children's Foundation
Welcome to Mattel's global philanthropy programs and the Mattel Children's Foundation.  Our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children in need globally continues to guide our efforts.  Perhaps it is through supporting almost 200 children's hospitals in the United States, or by providing smiles on the faces of approximately 5 million children through toys in the wake of a natural disaster.  Mattel is making a positive impact on the lives of children around the world through its philanthropy programs.

We invite you to learn more about our programs and activities.  Whether it be through our international grantmaking programs, our toy donations, or our volunteer activities, we think you will agree with us - Mattel is truly "making a meaningful difference, one child at a time!"

Mattel Children's Foundation
We believe it is our responsibility, as the largest toy manufacturer in the world, to
lead the way in making a difference in the lives of children. We do that through our safe and reliable products as well as by giving back to our communities through our philanthropic programs.

Each and every day, whether partnering with global organizations, granting funds in local communities, donating toys, or coordinating our worldwide volunteer force, Mattel is making a difference - one child at a time.

This philanthropic drive is part of who we are as a company. Mattel has a long history of actively supporting its communities around the world with a global commitment to children in need. Mattel's philanthropic programs consist of the Mattel Children's Foundation, which includes U.S. and international grantmaking and employee matching gifts, scholarships and volunteer grants, as well as toy donations, corporate contributions, partnerships and volunteerism.

Mattel's philanthropic programs are guided by:
