Fisher-Price is headquartered in East Aurora, New York, a small, historic village 20 minutes southeast of Buffalo. It's a close-knit community with lovely old homes, gently rolling hills, good schools, and friendly, hardworking neighbors. Yes, we get snow, but Western New Yorkers agree that even cold and snowy days bring everyone closer together to shovel each other out or ask if they need something from the store. In addition, the other three seasons of the year are lovely!
We're close to city life, with Buffalo 20 minutes away, Rochester one hour away, and Toronto less than a two-hour drive.
While East Aurora is a small town, the Buffalo metropolitan area is home to over one million people. USA Today recently launched a nationwide search for a "City with a Heart," and Buffalo received the most votes from its residents. And not far away is Niagara Falls, ski country, the shores of Great Lakes, bountiful orchards, vineyards, and farmers' markets. Fisher-Price is a major employer here, along with Rich Products; General Motors and Ford; numerous financial, medical, and pharmaceutical companies; and the State University of New York at Buffalo. Western New York is also gaining ground as an up-and-coming "byte belt" for computer technology and Internet developers.
Nightlife in the area includes the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, a distinguished theater district, and award-winning restaurants where you can enjoy everything from Buffalo wings to gourmet cuisine.
